Abbie and I are in Iquitos today packing the expedition food and camp equipment. Malcolm and Georgina are upriver in Nauta checking boat arrangements to enter the nature reserve. The river level of the Maranon/Amazon is highest in 20 years. As a result our partners at the Wildlife Conservation Society are relying heavily on the survey work we will do this season, as dolphin, caiman and otter populations are affected by climate and water shed conditions.
